Well, I had my 2nd race of the season and it really opened my eyes. I went in thinking I could win hands down. The pace went out really hard and Martin didn't let up. Someone told me we went through 1k in 2:50, and 2k in 5:50. The 2nd km was mostly up hill and that is where I got dropped. I hit the wall. And Martin just kept on going. I felt like I couldn't run anymore. And if the guys behind me caught me, I wouldn't be able to respond. Lucky for me I held the rest of the field off by 30" by the end. I'm going to spend the next few weeks working on speed. last Night I went to the track and ran 10x400 with 90" rest. my times were as low as 66 and as high as 68. Most of them being 67 high. Drew paced me for the one where I went 66. Then Wednesday morning I got up and ran a tempo 15k in 55:56. I felt good for most of it. there were times I had to slow a bit just so I could recover. This Saturday I will be doing 2x5k at UofG with 10' rest.
I need everyone behind me in the next 2 weeks if I'm going to beat Martin in Kingston. I need all the support I can get. The more I get, the better I run. keep me running fast. Nationals are coming!!!!!
