Last time I did a beer mile I ran 21:00 with my Dad laughing at me. This time I was set out to beat everyone and get in the sub 7min club. So I head down to my Buddy's house(Who is getting married the next day) and about 15 of us headed over to the track. If you not sure what a beer mile is, here are the rules(http://www.beermile.com/faq.beer#rules). In short it's 4 beers, 4 laps. The 1st beer went down okay and I was 5th out of the transition area. I quickly caught Nat who was leading and over took him with about 300m in. My 2nd beer was my fastest one of all. At least that's what Nat said. At 2 beers and 800meters of running I was at 2:55. On pace for sub 6. the 3rd lap also felt good and I thought I had a shot at braking 6, but the last beer took a little to get down and once I started running, I could feel it almost coming up. with about 200m to go I had to slow down so I wouldn't vomit and get a penalty lap. so I passed the line and I vomited everywhere. My final time was 6:12. A top 50 time in the world. We also have it on tape and once I get that tape I will posted it. Now it's off to Tyler's wedding and the long trip down to Windsor for a race on Sunday. Next post I will fill you in on the whole weekend.

School

James and Breanne got a stroller for the new baby coming and I decided to take it out for a spin. So I put the 2 dogs in and took them for a ride around the block.
The results are in, and I have passed my 1st year of college. Now it's time to start my full year co-op term. I start on August 18th and will be moving to Waterloo. This morning was really nice waking up and not having to study or having to worry about school in some way. Now I can train when ever I want:) This week I will be running 144km (90 miles). and then I will be over 100miles next week. And once I hit that I will start all my intervals and tempo runs. I will start training with the university of Waterloo team once I get moved in. My goal race this fall will be Nationals in Kingston. It's at the start of November. Last year my goal race was Provincials, so it's time to step up and win college Nationals. Stay tuned for workouts I have been doing and mileage I'm running. I want to hold 105-110 miles a week till October.

2 More Exams
it's true, I have only 2 more exams and then I will be done my 1st year of school. I will get one week off and then start my Co-op Job at ODG. It will be nice to finlly be making some money again after being in school for a year.
Yesterday after my exam, I went out for a easy 17k run. Then it was over to my Sister place for a BBQ. Today I'm planing on going for a 18k run with a 20min tempo somewhere in there.

Peterbouogh
I had one killer of a race in Peterbouogh. I couldn't of asked for a better day. My time was 10min faster then I have ever gone. 4:11. I didn't swim that fast, but I biked and run very well. This weekend I'm heading down to windsor for for a race that James and his sister puts on. I need to try and brake an hour so james can give me $1000. I'm sure he will make a comment about this so you can all read what he has to say. But in short he says "NO ONE will ever brake an hour". Speaking of James, we were talking about what was the greatest baseball moment EVER. I think we agreed that Joe Cater's home run in the 93 world series was it. I found this video of the greatest sports moments and I thought I would share it will everyone.
This is what it is all about. We all train to have moments like these.

Guelph Lake

This was more then just a race for me. It was my home town race and I really wanted to win it. But I knew it wasn't going to be easy with Andrew and Connor there. So here was my game plan before the race. I knew Connor was a very strong swimming and he would break away early. But I didn't want to get too far behind because I know he is a very good runner. Then there was Yorke. He lead the 1st 750 and I lead the 2nd half. Now I was a bit afraid of Yorke on the bike because he had been dropping me in workouts. So I made my push right from the get go. It worked and I just kept going. It was my fastest bike split ever. I avg. 41km/h. That is getting up there at Len Gushe's speed. Then came the run. The 1st 5k I was running scared because I didn't know how much a lead I had. And Andrew and Connor are very fast runners. After the turn around and I saw that I had a 2:30 lead, I started to relax and was running much more smooth. By the end of the day I had a new PB on the Guelph Lake course. 2:01 flat. Still not close to my main man Len who went 1:59.42 last year. I'll be racing Peterborough 1/2 ironman next weekend. Lets hope I don't pass out like I did in Muskoka and crash into the finishing poll;)

And on I side note, who keeps trashing talking everyone's blog???? If you have a problem with someone, just keep it to yourself. Everyone has bad races and that's how we learn. Anyways, I'll see everyone at the races.

Javier Gomez

Can he be stopped?
I was over at James house watching the worlds and I asked him "do you think he has facebook?" And he told me "he has no time for facebook because he is training his ass off everyday to be the best." And I would have to agree with James on that one. I think it's going to be very hard for anyone to beat him in August. I will still be cheering for my own country men, but if I had to bet on who would win, it would be Gomez. Congrats to Paul and Colin for making there 1st Olympic team. And to Simon who is 1 of 3 I think that have made every Olympic team.
And who said Simon can't swim?????
