Well, as most of you know this was my 1st XC race since I was young. I knew I was in good shape and ready to run fast. The race went out really quick but I was right in the mix of things. Cory Currie who was not officially in the race, (but was still aloud to run because it was his school home course) took it out hard and we were flying. we went through 4k around 12:35. I was still feeling good and it wasn't to fast yet. Then around 6k I was starting to tighten up. He gaped me a little and I never got back with him. he was not aloud to cross the finishing line and dropped out just before the finishing loop. So I was the 1st college athlete across the line. My time was 25:44. So I did slow down during the 2nd loop. I know once I start my tapper into Nationals I won't die on that last 2k. I'm still running 90+ miles a week. 2nd place was John Mason and 3rd was my team mate Drew Jansen in a time of 28:11. feel free to take a look at the pictures my parents and sister took. I'm really glad they could make the trip. I have the best parents and sister in the world. I think that is another reason I run fast;) Thanks guys.
Dave

Ahhhh, David, that was a nice comment to make about your family. We wouldn't have it any other way......we are extremely proud of you and Breanne - you are both the best kids any parents could ask for! Okay, enough mush....just keep up the good work and no, that doesn't mean you don't have to pay the rent this month. Luv ya - mom.
