Dave Sharratt Open

Overall I was pleased with how thing turned out with the Dave Sharratt open. I ended up running a 8:59.4. The night of the race was WINDY. I kept looking at the weather and it kept saying the wind was at 30 km/h. I called my pacer Mikey and he was saying we should hold off a day and wait till the wind dies down, but I already had 15 people showing up to watch. So the show had to go on. Adrian has all my splits and from what I can remember I was 71 at 400, 2:18 for 800 and 2:51 at 1000m, which is where Mikey dropped off and I ran a lap on my own. Mikey rejoined at 1 mile and help me out for the final 1400m. I can remember the rest of the splits but I was starting to slow. So overall I got a PB by 7 sec. Then most of us headed back to my place for a little party. we sat around and talked and ended the night with a game of poker. I was the 1st one knocked out in poker. Next year I think I'm going to plan another Dave Sharratt open and maybe run a different distance. But that will be a year away. Thanks to everyone that came out. You guys really helped me that last 800m.
