Race morning I got a great sleep. I woke up at 6:30 (which is sleeping in for me) and felt good. I had my usual breakfast of oatmeal and 2 peaces of toast. My sister and parents drove me to the start line and then they went out for breakfast and were going to pick me up at 21km. It was a little cold at the start but I knew I would like the weather come 10k. I ran the 1st 5k with ZELJKO SABOL and PAUL AUFDEMBERGE (former winner of the around the bay 1999). we went though 5k in 17:03. That's when they started to pick up the pace. I was happy with the pace I was running and I decided not to go with them. I went though 10k in 34:18 and still feeling really good about how I was racing. I could still see the 2 of them just up ahead. Next was the 15k and I was still on good pace. My time was 51:39. I knew the hills were coming really soon. I didn't like the bridge that we had to run over because of the footing. I kinda slowed down at that point just so I wouldn't twist my ankle. Then the hills came. They slowed me down a little, but I still felt good on them. I went though 20k in 1:09.44. So my paced slowed to a 3:37per/k. Then my last "k" was almost all up hill. I finished in a time of 1:13.45. I was really happy to get under 1:15. So I was really happy with the way I raced. Maybe next year I will do the full 30k :)

Good job Sharratt....that's some solid running! You'll be even faster later in the summer!
That's awesome! I am jealous I couldn't race it too...
what were you running a 20k leg of a 2 man relay?
That was the plan, but it was sold out before I could sign up. So I just started the run race and stoped at 21k. The race sold out really fast. I should of signed up earlyer, but I wasn't 100%sure I was going to race.
that race was sold out? if you wanted a timing chip you could have wore mine. i see your ohio state and florida picks are still alive and kicking
