Caribbean Curise

What a great trip in the Caribbean. The 1st day was at sea and enjoying the sun. I got up early went to the gym for an hour run. nice and easy because I had a race the next day. The rest of the day was spend just getting to know the boat and relaxing.

The next stop was Barbados. This was a race Island. The first 2.5 was not as hard as I thought it would be, but coming back into town it was hot and we were running faster. I ended up running 15:59. I was really happy with the time. The it was off to the beach for a 3k swim. Nothing hard, just enjoying the fish swimming around me;)

Now we were off to St. Lucia. I got to run with one of there top athlete's down there. His name was Ali. He took me on a 16km hilly run though St. Lucia. This was also the first day I met Autumn and Alison. Which meant "NO MORE SLEEP FOR DAVE". I went over to the beach with them that day and that night we were out till 2:00am partying on the boat.

Now we were off to St. Maarten. And I would have to say this is the best Island of them all. We started out with a 8km run along the side of the ocean. And if you even slipped a little you would fall. So it was more a walk then anything else. Then we headed over to the beach where I met up with a good friend Mike Mcdonough. He lives on the Island and he brought his triathlon group to have a swim with us. Lisa gave a talk after the swim and all the kids now have a new hero. (P.S. Mike I want some pictures you took)

Antigua was next. I don't have any picture from this Island, but we ran out 7km and climbed this hill in which you could see the whole Island. I really wish I brought my Camera. I enjoyed the rest of the day shopping with Autumn and Alison. I went to bed around 11:00 because I knew I had to race in the morning. And 11:00 was early for me when I was on the cruise.

St. Thomas I was really excited about because I got to race a 10km. But once I had got off the boat and did a little warm up, Autumn tells me that the race is Canceled. I get into this BIG thing with her that she is lying, but sure enough she was right. I was not happy. we still did the run but it wasn't the full distance. I didn't even know the started the run and I was left behind. but I caught back up quickly.

That night was was the biggest party night of all. It was the really fun that night. The girls really showed me how to party. I think I was up till about 2:00am. and the drinking started at 5:30. That will be the last time I drink in a long time. I'm back to training mode now. Eatting heathy and training right.

Now on the way home, all plane's at the airport were delayed by over 4 hours. So we were in the airport at 10:30am and didn't leave San Juan till about 4:00-5:00? then it was another 3 hours in New York. By the time we got home I had been up for almost 24 hours. But I had such a great time on the boat and met so many new freinds. I hope we all can do it again next year.

Yay! I am so excited that I made the blog--it made me feel very important (although I sound like a horrible influence...which I am NOT:) ) You made my cruise AMAZING! Now I have officially had a life changing experience, and you continue to motivate me. Thank you for all your help, time, and support! I couldn't have done it without you!
