Muskoka Weekend
I decided not to race the Muskoka LC this weekend because I really want to have a good race next weekend in Montreal. It will be my 1st ITU race since I raced back in 2005.
The plan this weekend was to get some open water swimming and biking in. Saturday morning I got up early and went for a 60' run followed by a 90' ride with Karsten. Then it was right into the water because Karsten needed to use my wetsuit. Then it was time to pick up my Mom for the sprint relay race we were doing. James did the swim for us and had the fastest swim split in the relay and the 2nd fastest swim overall just behind Buddy Green. Then it was my leg of the relay. I wanted to bike 33-34min for 20k. I ended up biking 32:40. Then it was my Mom's turn. I ran with her the whole way just to make sure she stayed on 35min pace. we fell of a bit because of the hills, but she was really happy with her final time. Team Sharratt ended up 6th out of 18 teams.
Then it was James turn to race the long course on Sunday morning. You can read his blog about how his race went. Sean had a great race and won by 2' over Wolfgang and Len. It ended up being a very fun race to watch. Muskoka is always a very fun weekend and I love going up there. Taper week for me this week. I need to swim well or my race is over. I need some good vibes from everyone. Wish me luck:)
