OCAA Championship

The last 2 weeks I have back off my mileage because I really wanted to have a good race and win OCAA's. The weekend started of with a long 4 hour drive up to Kingston. we drove over to the course and the girls did a course walk while I ran around the course for 25min just to see what I was going to be running on. Once we got to our hotel we find out that Conestoga has booked us for the wrong night and there are no more rooms available. So we ended up going to an even nicer hotel with a fireplace in all the rooms. And the beds were so comfortable. We watched a pre-race movie called Waiting. lol. Not everyone enjoyed that movie. It's kinda rude humor. Race morning I was up at 6:30am. Chris Santos was not happy with that. But I can't sleep passed 7am anyways. Once we got to the course, it was a sloppy mess. My race plan was to let the leaders go out and I wouldn't start gaining on them till the 2nd lap. I made sure they were never out of reach. On the 2nd lap, Nelson was starting to push the pace and then it was down to 2 guys. With 800 to go I knew in my head I could go because I was still feeling great. So I went for it and it payed off. My final time was 27:05 while Nelson's was 27:20. I was very happy with the way I raced. My team-mate Drew came 5th and earned his spot on team Ontario. we were the only team to have 2 guys make that team. We lost the team title by 1 point (49-50). Lets hope our school sends the whole team out to Alberta so we can try and win Nationals. You can fin the results on sports-stats. you can take a look at some pictures here:
